DIY Acrylic Pen or Brush Holder
This DIY acrylic pen or brush holder is an easy project to do. It really transforms this plain acrylic holder to something that can be very fancy or very trendy. Use this holder for pens, make-up brushes or just use to organize your desk top.
Gather Your Supplies
To begin with, I am going to list the items needed to make this acrylic pen or brush holder. However, add any gems or trinkets that you may have laying around your house. At the bottom of this page, I will put my referral links to some of the items that I used, just in case you were interested in using the same items.
- Acrylic Holder
- E6000
- Polymer Clay
- Rhinestones & Pearls
- Gems
- Glitter Glue
Plan Out Your Placement on the Acrylic Pen or Brush Holder
The best way to make sure you have embellishments filling one side of the acrylic holder, is to lay them out first. The biggest embellishment goes in the middle of the acrylic holder. Then, just kept adding embellishments to the acrylic holder. Adding gems, resin charms, rhinestone and pearl embellishments until the side is full. Fill in the gaps with the small polymer clay embellishments. They are also called slime charms or nail art embellishments. The embellishments worked perfectly to fill in the gaps.
Once you know where you want your embellishments placed, just carefully glue them on the acrylic holder. Then, let that dry for at least 24 hours before moving on to the next step.
Adding Sparkle to the Acrylic Pen or Brush Holder
Brushing on some glitter glue to the remaining three sides to the holder completes the acrylic holder. It gives it a personal, crafty touch. This looks nicer as opposed to leaving it plain.
Decorating Options
In the picture below, are two acrylic pen or brush holders. They are examples of the different items that can be used as embellishments. I added a felt lady bug sticker to the middle of the holder on the right. Sticking with the red theme, more red embellishments were added to match. They both look absolutely adorable. In conclusion, this project is easy to complete. The only thing that takes time, is waiting for the glue and glitter glue to dry!
